Who I Am

In first grade, I created my first (kinda) book.

In fifth grade, I wrote my first fan fiction.

In sixth grade, I took the plunge and started posting to fanfiction.net.

(No, I will not share my handle on there.)

(Yes, my early work is as cringe as you might envision it to be.)

I have been interested in writing since I was very young. As a creative person, it started with stories about counting dogs and a girl traveling the Savannah to learn about animals and grew into a long list of stories about love, life, death, and so much more. It was only in November of 2005 that I truly conceived of creating my first full novel—and thus, Hidden Report was born.

I signed up a mere three days prior to NaNoWriMo of that year with the goal of creating a story that would let me bring Ashura together with his eventual love interesting. While they weren’t created to be a couple, the novel proved to me that they could work as one, and thus started my journey to become a novelist.

Alas, at the age of nineteen, my dreams were shattered by the insensitive words of a professional editor; she slammed the idea of a male lead in a romance novel, let alone the idea of him having a male love interest. So, I put Hidden away, convinced despite the numerous BL manga and anime I’d seen that my novel could never succeed.

Fast forward to 2022. It took the lost of two of the most important people in my life and a career change to mental health therapy for me to truly take stock of a void that’d sat unfilled in me for far too long. So, one day into NaNoWriMo of that year, I sat down with Hidden Report and did what was long overdue.

I tore it down to its bare bones and rewrote it in its entirety. From that month forward, my focus has been on developing the story from where it began to where it stands today.

2005 Hidden clocked in at 48k words.

2022 Hidden clocked in at 61k words.

Today, after all the work I put in, it’s over 140k words long. I’ve become a streamer, a therapist, an author, an artist, and so much more, and my journey is just beginning.
